Obituary for Betty Joan Blaho

Betty Joan Blaho, 86, of Eldorado, IL, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2019 in Eldorado.

Betty was born in Traverse City, MI on December 31, 1932 to the late William and Estella (Eastman) Hilley. Betty worked as the secretary for the Eldorado Gospel Assembly Church where she was an active member.

Betty was a lady of God who possessed many talents which she used in the service of the Lord's church. She and her husband moved to Eldorado in 1969 and at that time they attended Gospel Assembly Church, she used her many talents to the service the church. She was an accomplished poet having written hundreds of inspirational poems which many people will remember.

On March 11, 1951 she married John Blaho and he survives in Eldorado. Also surviving are her children, Jan Blaho (also known as John Milton) of St. Louis, MO and Barbara (Roger) Willis of Evansville, IN. Also surviving are three grandchildren: Chad Willis of Eldorado, IL, Tammy (Brett) McSparin of Ballwin, MO and Kesha (Rick) Sargent of Springville, AL, eleven great grandchildren: Braxton Sparks, Liliana Sparks, Hudson McSparin, Sophia Sargent, Essie Sargent, Mackinna Sargent, Josiah Sargent, Benjamin Sargent, Simeon Sargent, Jeremiah Sergant and Betka Sargent (who was Betty's namesake). She was preceeded in death by 4 brothers and 4 sisters.

Funeral services for Betty will be held on Monday, October 14, 2019 at the Watson Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Rev. L.D. Jolly will be officiating. Burial will be at Wolf Creek Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 13 from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Watson Funeral Home funeral home.
